BDO Capital Advisors Announces the Sale of ElecComm to Sunbelt Rentals
Boston, MA - June 17, 2014 - BDO Capital Advisors, LLC is pleased to announce that ElecComm Power Services, Inc. (“EPS”) has been acquired by Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. (“Sunbelt”). As the exclusive financial advisor to EPS, BDO Capital Advisors prepared marketing materials and identified and contacted a targeted group of potential buyers. Through a two-step auction, Sunbelt was chosen as the preferred buyer to move into the final stage of the process, during which BDO Capital Advisors assisted in structuring and negotiating the transaction for EPS. The deal closed on April 1.
EPS, based in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, is a privately-held company founded in 2006 by entrepreneurs Brian Kerins and Patrick Manning. EPS provides mobile generator rentals primarily to utility companies as well as to commercial and industrial customers across New England. Sunbelt, a subsidiary of Ashtead Group plc (LSE: AHT), is one of the largest equipment rental companies in the U.S., with a fleet of approximately $3 billion. Ashtead Group is an international equipment rental company based in the UK with a $7.6 billion market cap.
